Join Space United as we return to Medellín, Colombia for our 3rd consecutive year — mentoring 450+ students and engaging 1,000+ guests at the 3rd Annual ALAS* Colombian Rocketry Competition, playing soccer with the local community, and embracing the culture of one of Latin America's most vibrant cities. Shared with a group of passionate ambassadors who believe space belongs to everyone.

*Aerospace Latin America Suborbitals (ALAS): The ALAS Colombian Rocketry Competition is an international engineering competition where students from middle school through university design, build, and launch solid-propellant rockets under real-world aerospace standards.

🛬 Day 1 — Arrival in medellin!

Arrival in Medellín, hotel check-in, and welcome dinner, followed by a mission briefing and introductions among ambassadors.

🚀 Day 3 — ALAS Competition, Day 1: Judging & Feedback

A speaker series with students, families, and media opens the day, then ambassadors work in small groups with middle school, high school, and university teams — technical feedback ahead of launch day, with points scored against ALAS design and mission criteria. The day closes with a team dinner and debrief.

🚀 Day 4 — ALAS Competition, Day 2: Middle & High School Launch Day

Ambassadors support ALAS staff as middle and high school teams launch, with the Colombian Air Force assisting recovery inside the landing radius. Lunch with student teams and staff follows, then a street soccer match with students and community members and a Space United gear and merch giveaway.

🚀 Day 5 — ALAS Competition, Day 3: University Launch Day & Awards 🏆

University teams launch with ambassador and Air Force support, closing out three days of competition. The awards ceremony follows, recognizing winning teams across all three divisions.


🎤 DAY 6 — INMERXIA OPENING NIGHT

The AI Week of Colombia opens at the Planetario de Medellín with INMERXIA Talks — a live podcast on smart cities, dome projections, press conference, and an opening cocktail, closing with remarks from Mayor Federico Gutiérrez.

💡 DAY 7 — WORKSHOPS & MASTERCLASSES

Hands-on AI training at C4TA in Comuna 13, running beginner through advanced tracks — automation, generative AI applications, data analysis, and enterprise integration.

🎓 DAY 8 — YOUTH AI SUMMIT

Colombia's youth AI summit at City Hall Medellín — 4,000 students, immersive experiences, and a digital inclusion fair built around the next generation of Colombian technologists. Free entry.


🤖 DAY 9 — AI EXPO & COLOMBIAN AI FORUM

The commercial expo and main forum open at Fórum UPB, with 40+ national and international speakers, sector case studies, and a business matchmaking round.

🏁 DAY 10 — AI FORUM DAY 2 & CLOSING

The forum closes with sessions on aerospace innovation, leadership, and AI ethics — including Aerialoop CEO Santiago Barrera on the sky as the next frontier for innovation.


🎸 DAY 11 — JUANES IN CONCERT (TBD)

Medellín's own Juanes closes the mission with a hometown show at Daviarena. Tickets are separate and secured individually — availability is not guaranteed.

⚽ Day 2 — Exhibition Match

Space United's "The Future of Soccer in Space" workshop for local youth academies opens the day. Space United then takes the pitch against Águilas Doradas — ex-professional players and club staff — in a match supported by the Alcaldía de Medellín as a citywide event. A group dinner closes the day with reflections and a look ahead at the rest of the mission.
