Director of Business Development
As our director of business development, Oscar brings both his unique professional experiences as a Project Engineer and his business relationship values of unifying people, creating openness and authenticity. In addition, Oscar has a deep connection with soccer stemming from his roots as a youth professional soccer player in Colombia.
In Oscar’s professional career, he is a Project Engineer in the emerging field of renewable energy. The unique integrative nature of his role has given Oscar invaluable experience in communicating with various levels of stakeholders spanning multiple countries. Yet despite different interests or cultures, Oscar sincerely connects with people and gains their trust. Through sensitive and inclusive resolution of key issues, Oscar is indispensable to improving the output and social sustainability of an organization.
Oscar also has many notable soccer achievements that give him a keen perception of important technicalities and dynamics of successful teams. As a key player, his experience spans from being a former professional soccer player for Millonarios in Colombia, and leading his school’s varsity team to three consecutive Alaska state championships.
Oscar then went on to use his soccer experience to unify people of all backgrounds. While completing his B.S. of Maritime Engineering at Texas A&M University Galveston, Oscar established the University’s official Soccer Club. After graduating, Oscar founded the Subsea7 Football Club for his company, in conjunction with the formation of Space United FC and following in their footsteps of uniting the forces of academics and soccer. Their Subsea7 FC finished 2nd at the 2017 World Corporate Games in Houston, TX.
In Oscar’s spare time, he loves immersing himself in world cultures. Fortunately, in his line of work, he has had the opportunity to live and work in multiple countries such as Colombia, France, Scotland, USA, and Nigeria. Each experience is a rewarding and unforgettable experience for Oscar. Currently, Oscar is working in Germany and garnering international support for Space United’s mission.
